essen Sie Käse, trinken Sie Bier

Ulm is simply wonderful. Mornings are filled with sunshine and morning walks with coffee greeting us at every turn. Afternoons beg Sierra and I to come out and play. Our feet have touched enough cobblestones to build another Munster, while my mind never stops spinning a mile a minute trying to take in the scenery that generations of Germans have kept secret for far too long. Nights are spent with new friends or family, usually with a beer in hand and philosophy the topic of conversation.

Today I spoke an entire, proud sentence to a man in Deutsch. He answered me as if I lived just around the corner, and just as quick as I impressed Sierra, English started pouring out of my mouth faster than I could cover up with 15-letter words that mean "sorry."

I am thouroughly convinced that "hallo!" is the neatest way to say hello, and if I can pack some of these away in my mind, I fully intend on bringing that trend to the states.

Today a manic wave of productivity sewed itself into my sleeves, making me write write write and draw more than my pen can handle. The realization that Sierra and I are spending 5 full days in Amsterdam hit me as they scanned our credit cards for our train tickets. What a world. Pick a place. Go to that place. And the memories are stored in my camera.

But if I am going to dress up tomorrow and distract the city, beauty sleep is needed, and my face yearns for the soft pillow in the other room. Someone save a spot for me at the cafe tomorrow.
